Fiona Johnston has spent 25 years in education.  Originally graduating from Exeter University in Sociology and Philosophy, she specialised in the Sociology of Education.

She then did a diploma in teaching children with learning difficulties at Roehampton Institute, studying under Beve Hornsby.  She then worked at Fairley House, London R17’s first school for dyslexics.  She then spent 10 years as a peripatetic dyslexia therapist working in both the state and private schools on the south coast.

In 1995 she, with partners, set up Kingscourt School, a prep school in Hampshire.  She sold this school to Cognita Schools in 2006 and then set up Barle as an educational customer research company.
